TOP FIVE TUESDAY ♡ SERIES FINALES

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a nice day today. I feel like I’ve been talking about series finales a lot lately, probably because I just finished yet another series and the way I felt about that one got me thinking about all the other finales I’ve read. And therefore, today’s Top Five was born. It’s gonna be a bit hard to really remember which series finales I loved the most because the past couple years have been spent focusing more on NA series and those don’t really count in the same way I’d like them to, since majority of them feel like standalones. But I’m gonna do my best to pick my favourite finales and give them the love they deserve.

Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Series Finales!

1. OPPOSITION BY JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT (LUX #5)

Honestly, I’m pretty sure this is what sparked today’s topic because I kept comparing the Titan series finale to this one. There are two reasons why I picked this one: it’s the only book in the series that I gave the full 5 stars to and it was just an insane ending. I loved how JLA attacked this final book and the various tropes she used and felt it was some of her best writing. It was emotional, full of action, and had a very solid ending to a beyond solid series. And the best epilogue I’ve ever read.

2. MAFIOSA BY CATHERINE DOYLE (BLOOD FOR BLOOD #3)

This was another book I gave 5 stars to without hesitation because it was such an insane book. I loved the character development that Sophie went through and how we really got to the climax of her relationship with Luca, who may or may not have been the best part of this book. It was full of plot twists and explored the characters in really interesting ways that it’s impossible to find a complaint. It really went out with a bang, that’s for sure.

3. END OF DAYS BY SUSAN EE (PENRYN AND THE END OF DAYS #3)

I loved literally all of the books in this series so much but this one left me smiling like an idiot. Of course, there was a fair bit of heartbreak here and there but because the ending is so happy and both Penryn and Raffe are happy, it’s hard not to be happy yourself. They went through so much in this series and experienced all the ups and downs so they deserved this ending. This series is so outstanding that I think everyone needs to read it if they haven’t already. The ending makes it so worthwhile.

4. THE WINNER’S KISS BY MARIE RUTKOSKI (THE WINNER’S TRILOGY #3)

I don’t think the word “emotional” even begins to describe how this series ended out with this one book. It was emotional from the very first chapter and it stayed that way until the very end. I loved how the plot itself rounded out but I think it’s the journey of both the characters of Kestrel and Arin that sealed it for me. Their relationship is so beautiful and getting that back, discovering who and what they mean to each other, is inexplicable. I wish I could erase this series from my memory and read it all over again for the first time.

5. CROOKED KINGDOM BY LEIGH BARDUGO (SIX OF CROWS #2)

Imagine not including this masterpiece. Has anyone ever read a book that was full of more dramatic flare and plot twists than this one? I don’t think so. The character development, the flow of the plot, the relationships, god everything about this book is spectacular that I can barely pick just one element. I’m still mad at who Bardugo decided to kill in this series, especially after how far they came, but I still love this book. I’m pretty sure it’s the best thing to ever happen to YA ever.

Well, those are my favourite series finales! Part of me feels like I missed some but when you’ve read a lot of YA series like I have it’s hard to pick your favourites. I’m also thinking that a counter list of series finales that fell flat could happen in the future.

Until next time,
