YEAR IN REVIEW ✣ 2018

Hello friends and happy Monday! And Happy New Year’s Eve!

What a year this has been for books and reading and all the shenanigans in between. I’m not gonna lie, this was not an easy book year for me. I gave myself a tough Reading Challenge that initially seemed like a good idea but I underestimated how hard it would be. And with all that I personally had going on, it made it seem like I needed to give up or change it. But I am happy to say that I worked hard to get through my challenge and read whatever I could get my hands on to make my goal. And I’m happy to say that I’ve officially completed my challenge! I feel lighter than air right now! I also completed a couple personal goals in addition so I’ll stop rambling and start getting into what you’re all hear for: my year in review.

As I’ve already said, I have now completed my Reading Challenge of 100 books. I honestly did not thing this day was going to come because of how hard it was getting for me. I fell behind more than I’d like to admit and it was only within the last couple months that I got back on track. I thought about changing my challenge so many times or giving into rereading books, just to get my count back up. I started to reread a couple, but never actually finished them and left them more as insurance reads. I’m glad I didn’t need them. In addition to that, I also completed my own challenge of reading all of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s books this year. I think there were about 22 or so of her books I hadn’t read and I spread them out through the year so I can give my attention to all books, not just hers. I’m so glad I’ve read all her books and can actually say that. She’s my favourite author, for sure. According to Goodreads, my average rating for this year is about 3.5 stars and that sounds about right! There were a lot of enjoyable books this year, with some not so great books, but I would say my year of books is definitely 3.5 stars. No matter how many times I wanted to put my head through a wall, it was a pretty good reading year.

Until next time,
